As part of the Emergence Series, this bowl was created from the remains of an American holly tree, felled in West Philadelphia in 2019. Each bowl in the series is a completely unique form, made up of wood and tinted epoxy, and finished with shellac. This particular bowl was power carved using a variety of discs and burrs, and also burned to create the emergent dotted patterns all along the outside.
